Contests Housing Week Contest #6 Housing Week in Middle-Earth News

Introducing D&Co’s 6th Biannual Housing Week Contest !

Note: Many thanks to Rhuangar (Brandywine) for editing the English version of this article

Today I invite everyone to participate in this summer’s Housing Week in Middle Earth. More than seven months have passed since the last edition of the contest and I think it is time to see some new creativity from our community. I’m happy to present this new version of the Housing Week in Middle Earth !

Housing Week in Middle Earth ?! What is it ?

Housing Week in Middle Earth is a contest in which participants get the chance to win some cool prizes by showing off their expertly decorated houses in LOTRO. We have already had five very successful Housing Weeks since the creation of D&Co du Milieu.

For the 6th edition I hope we can convince as many of our English-speaking friends to join in the fun as possible!

Players on all servers are welcome ! Enter the contest by showing us your beautiful kinship house !

The course of the contest:

Entries will be recieved until June 20th through the contact form. In the days that follow I will visit every house that is entered and I will select 10 which will then be posted for public and jury voting during Housing Week in Middle Earth.

All you need to know:

Dates:

  • Participations: now through Wednesday, June 20th at 11:59pm

Fill out the form at the bottom before the deadline and try to be one of the 10 kinship houses selected for this contest.

  • Selection: Monday, June 25th

The selection of ten houses and all associated photos will be posted in the morning.

  • Visits and votes: from June 25th through July 1st at 11:59pm

You will then have one week to visit, enjoy, and rate them !

  • Results: July 2nd or 3rd

Depending on my schedule and the amount of information to be processed, the results of this competition will be published in the days following the end of the voting period.

Rules, Votes, Jury, Rewards:

  • Kinship houses (only!)

This time, it is the kinship houses that I want! Get together with your colleagues in your favorite neighborhood and give me a beautiful house.

  • Votes

A form for voting will be available online on June 25th.
Only one vote per person, cheating is still not tolerated.
The house with the best average score wins.

More info to come soon.

  • Jury

Members of the jury will be announced later.

  • The Jury Prize : The Expert Gardener

This time, yards will be rewarded ! The jury will reward the most beautiful garden among the 10 selected houses.

  • Rewards

1st place: 1500 LotRO Points

2nd place: 500 LotRO Points + Battle Worn Steed of the White City

3rd, 4th and 5th places: Battle Worn Steed of the White City

Jury Prize "Expert Gardener": 500 LotRO Points + Battle Worn Steed of the White City

Note: Rewards are not cumulative. If your position in the ranking already earns you points, you will not be able to cumulate with the Jury Prize and the winnings will be staggered.
Concrete example: I finish first and I win the Jury Prize -> so I win 1500 Points and a rare mount. The 500 points of the jury prize (without the mount) are carried over to 3rd place.
Example 2: If I finish 3rd and win the Gardener's Prize, I win 500 LOTRO Points + a mount. The remaining mount is shifted to 6th place.

I wish you the best of luck for this new ‘World Cup’ edition of Housing Week in Middle Earth !

May the most beautiful house win 🙂

See you on Monday !

How long should the description be? Is there a word limit? I don’t want to write a long description and then have to cut out lots of it. Thanks!
