D&Co du Milieu – 7th Anniversary

One more year of D&Co du Milieu! It’s the decorator’s birthday…

Seven years have passed since August 12, 2016, when I opened the doors of D&Co du Milieu.

Today (well, in fact, three days ago) we blow out a seventh candle for the website!

Before thinking about cracking open the champagne and thanking the guests, I suggest – as usual – that we take a little tour of the past year and tackle some statistics!

Contests

There were 6 contests on D&Co du Milieu in the 2022/2023 season! 2 Housing Weeks, 1 X-Creator contest, 2 screenshot contests on Discord, and the Anniversary contest.

Next year, these contests will be back more or less in the same order and at the same times.

I also hope to be able to create a new contest on the website this year. I’ll have more information about it soon.

The Decorator’s Event Schedule is always there to give you an idea of the competitions yet to take place before the year’s end.

Website

There were many improvements and updates to the website this year: advanced search, menu tweaks, removal of the sidebar on posts…

But the biggest change of the year was the creation of a Member section, where you can now all share your addresses and pictures of your houses in your own profile pages.

Over the coming year, I’ll continue to improve the website and the servers in order to be able to deliver the best quality website to all of you!

Database

D&Co du Milieu would not be what it is now without its famous decoration database.

As of today, the site has logged exactly 2875 decoration items (501 items added this year) – every single item in LotRO is on D&Co du Milieu!

With Update 37 coming soon, I also worked on categories and updated more than 1800 items this year.

As usual, I will continue to update the database throughout the coming year, whether by updating old photos or by adding new information (price, categories, etc.).

Work on the database is never finished!

Let’s move on to the numbers!

Before reading those numbers, I must remind you that since January you can now disable cookies on the website. FYI, I also set things to make it so that, if you disallow cookies, ads will be removed too (I’m too kind :p).

Anyway, what I want to say here is that if you choose to refuse cookies on the website, I won’t see you on the logs and your visits won’t count in the end. This explains why the numbers are for the first time lower than the previous year. Based on the data, 41% of visitors are refusing cookies on the website, so I’ll let you do the math :p.

Visits:

• 283,337 visits on D&Co this year (395,000 last year)
• 36,000 visits in November, the best month of the season

The most visited pages/posts:

• Introduction to LotRO Housing (2,763 visits)
• Farmers Faire Festival (2,152 visits)
• Harvest Festival (1,999 visits)

The most viewed decoration items:

• Herbalist Table (987)
• Bed of the Weaving Wood (645)
• Rohan Housing Set (479)

My main suppliers of visitors (French + English):

• lotro.com: 36% of my external visits come from the official web site.
• FibroJedi (blog): 35%; thanks to Fibro for sharing this blog!
• Thanks also to LesFuretsDuGondor, LotRO JoL, LotRO Wiki, etc.
• Twitter/Facebook: 12%; many thanks to all of you, social media followers!

2022/2023 Contests:

• 6 contests this year (1 X-Creator + 2 Housing Weeks + 1 Anniversary Contest + 2 Discord screenshot contests)
• 12,500 LotRO Points awarded (17,500 last year)
• 35 Best House Trophies awarded (25 last year)!
• And dozens of other items (titles, pets, mounts…)!
