Introducing D&Co’s 10th Biannual Housing Week in Middle-Earth contest !
UPDATED (10/27)
It has been a long time since we walked together through the houses of Middle Earth, hasn’t it?
The launch of Rohan Housing provides the perfect opportunity to resume our usual house browsing habits! You have had a few months to make your marks in these new residential areas. Now, as promised, comes a dedicated contest to showcase these new beautiful dwellings in the home of the horse lords!
I am therefore happy to announce the beginning of Housing Week in Middle Earth #10: Rohan Housing!
Reminder – Housing Week in Middle Earth ?! What is it ?
Housing Week in Middle Earth is a contest in which participants get the chance to win some cool prizes by showing off their expertly decorated houses in LOTRO. We have already had 9 very successful Housing Weeks since the creation of D&Co du Milieu.
Players on all servers are welcome ! Enter the contest by showing us your beautiful Rohan house !
Housing Week in Middle-Earth #10
The Last Housing Week contest was held for personal houses only in any of the neighborhoods throughout Middle Earth. This time around we will focus on Rohan houses only.
Feel free to include any house of your choice in either the Kingstead or Eastfold neighborhood.
We will continue our usual schedule of focusing on Kinship houses in our next Housing Week contest.
The course of the contest:
Entries will be recieved until October 18th through the contact form. In the days that follow I will visit every house that is entered and I will select 15 which will then be posted for public and jury voting during Housing Week in Middle Earth.
All you need to know:
Dates
Participations – Now through Sunday, October 18th at 11:59pm (EST UTC-5)
Fill out the form at the bottom before the deadline and try to be one of the 15 personal houses selected for this contest.
Selection: Wednesday, October 28th UPDATED
The selection of 15 houses and all associated photos will be posted in the morning.
Visits and votes: from October 28th through November 8th at 11:59pm UPDATED
You will then have more than one week to visit, enjoy, and rate them !
Results
Depending on my schedule and the amount of information to be processed, the results of this competition will be published in the days following the end of the voting period.
Rules, Votes, Jury, Rewards:
Rohan houses (only!)
This time, it is the Rohan houses (from Kingstead and Eastfold) that I want! No other houses, please :).
Meadhalls and classic houses are welcome.
Votes
A form for voting will be available online on October 28th. UPDATED
Only one vote per person, cheating is still not tolerated.
The house with the best average score wins.
More info to come soon.
Jury
- Kaels (from LotRO JeuxOnLine)
- Edward (from LesFuretsDuGondor)
- Prunaprismia (from Trolls&Chiffons)
- Yao (..myself…)
The Jury Prize
Yards will be rewarded ! The jury will reward the most beautiful garden among the 15 selected houses. Don’t forget that you can now move yard items from their hooks.
Jury prize does not mean that only yards will be rewarded. This is just an addition to the classic votes.
Rewards
1st place: A “War of the Three Peaks” Expansion Packs (Collector Edition) + Best House in the Neighbourhood Trophy
2nd place: 1000 LotRO Points + Best House in the Neighbourhood Trophy
3rd place : 500 LotRO Points + Best House in the Neighbourhood Trophy
4th place: 500 LotRO Points + Best House in the Neighbourhood Trophy
Jury Prize “Rohan Gardener”: 1000 LotRO Points + Best House in the Neighbourhood Trophy
Note: Rewards are not cumulative. If your position in the ranking already earns you points, you will not be able to cumulate with the Jury Prize and the winnings will be staggered.
Concrete example: I finish first and I win the Jury Prize -> so I win the mini-Xpac and a housing trophy. The 1000 points of the jury prize (and the trophy) are carried over to 3rd place.
Example 2: If I finish 3rd and win the Jury Prize, I win 1000 LOTRO Points + a trophy. The remaining trophy is shifted to 4th place and 500 LOTRO Points are shifted to 5th place.
I wish you the best of luck for this new edition of Housing Week in Middle Earth !
May the most beautiful house win 🙂

UPDATE : Housing Week contest will start tomorrow (10/28). I’m sorry for being late this time, visiting almost 100 houses was a huge amount of work…

Explorer of unexplored places and collector of decorations, Yao offers you a whole range of items brought from the four corners of Middle Earth.
If you like what I do, or I’ve helped you in some way please consider buying me a coffee.
Can more than one house per person be submitted? Some of us have many houses and can’t decide what to enter.
Unfortunately no. Only one house per person. If I have 50 entries (this is what happened for previous contests), and everyone submit 2 house, I will need to visit 100 house and to be honest I can’t do it 😉
How do you feel about someone who decorated a house that they don’t own? Do you want the house owner’s name or the decorator?
I don’t really care to be honest. As long as the owner and decorator are ok with it, either name is ok for me 🙂
I have never entered one of your contests before, so I am unsure of what exactly you are looking for in regards to the house description box. I am afraid I will go overboard here, so I wanted to clarify.
Thank you for sponsoring such a wonderful contest. I wish I had discovered these a long time ago.
Where can I see the 15 selected houses?
I am still working on it. I had almost 100 houses to visit so it was a bit longer than usual.
Anyway, I’m currently writing presentation posts so it should be online later today. 😉
Yes, are they available to view yet? My kinnie has entered and I’m so excited to see if her house made it. 🙂
Hugs hun, I am so excited!!
Where will we be able to find the list of 15 houses?
Probably tomorrow morning (10/28) or later tonight.
Thank you.
many thanks for all your hard work, take your time, we know you are doing your best 🙂
