HWIME #7 - Final Fifteen

Address : 3, Cape Road

Neighborhood : Dol Tobas - Cape of Belfalas Homesteads

Language & Server : French - Sirannon

A few word from the homeowner:

"House inherited, the owner of the place - who generally prefers life on the roads - rarely comes, but the doors of the house are constantly open to accommodate travelers looking for some rest.

It becomes obvious to any visitor that the building was abandoned for several decades, given the proliferation of vegetation in the garden. Nevertheless, the woody atmosphere perfectly corresponding to the tastes of his occupant, the latter decided to leave the tall trees as they are.

The interior, on the other hand, has been completely refurbished, with a focus on wood furniture and red, brass and wood tones. All visitors are welcome, whether to enjoy the central reading room, the small lounge to the left of the entrance, or the dining room at the back. When present, the master of the house is often at his desk or looking after the many plants that decorate the house.
Recently, a new tenant has arrived in the house, and sometimes accepts visits in the right wing that he occupies entirely..."

The fireplace in the fishpond was imaginative and well executed. It probably would have been my favorite part of the house,
except, well… you feed your cat, and I just thought that was really great! I mean, it just looked so happy with its food and water dishes and all the comfy throw pillows. It was a simple idea but it really made me smile. 🙂

Oh and I also really liked all the garlands and the fancy bed.

  2. Yes, I saw the bird!!! I was standing on your lawn admiring the view and thinking what a nice lawn it would be to dance on, and it flew by my head. I watched it, and saw it path and was impressed that you had taken the time to to do that. I am also touched by your cat’s sweet little dishes and pillows, and proximity to a warm fireplace. I liked your kitchen very much. I could see friends gathered to cook and eat together. I liked the wreath on the head of the bed. Wouldn’t it be nice if those festive candles could be lit? Thank you for inviting me into your home. 🙂

Thanks for visiting, I’m glad you saw the bird and enjoyed your stay ! ^^

I know you don’t like blocked rooms, but there is a roleplay reason why my character is “hiding” something behind the living-room’s fireplace :p
As for the entrance upstairs… Well, I just don’t like it. The blue on the wall and ceiling don’t fit well with the color scheme I wanted to used (mostly red, gold et wood), so at first I just left them almost empty, pretending it was “meditation rooms”, but I received so much complains about it I just decided to block the stairs XD

      1. Ah, I get ‘role play’. That’s what we did openly on Landroval for years and years, until the server consolidation, and now we’ve had to go underground pretty much. 🙁

Aaauuurgh! That miserable ceiling!! I have struggled with that since I was first asked to decorate a home on the Cape. I need ceiling colors!!! Or the ceiling needs to just be light grey or light tan or some light neutral color. One of my clients insisted upon strong dramatic colors, and complained that the ceiling didn’t match. I wanted to reach through the screen, grab him by the throat, and bang his head on my desk. I suggested that he just not look up. He also had this thing for dead animals. Sigh, so I just did what he wanted, and wondered why he even asked me to do his house. LOL

If you ever upgrade to the bigger house on the Cape, pst me on Landy. I’d love to see what you could do with that indoor/outdoor space at the rear of the house, and those two huge rooms upstairs. 🙂

I love your garden, beautiful and natural. I also thought the combination of the garlands and the Elven Yulefest wallpaper worked well. Your dishes and cushions for your cat is just too sweet, and a really creative combination. I am absolutely going to try to provide something similar for my LOTRO cats too now… I hope you don’t mind =(^_^)=
