HWIME #7 - Final Fifteen

Address : 4, Chestnut Street

Neighborhood : Whithouse - Bree-Land Homesteads

Language & Server : English - Landroval

A few word from the homeowner:

"Greetings from Olivia and Oliver, caretakers of 4 Chestnut Street in the Whithouse neighborhood. We maintain the grounds and manage the household while its owner, the Elf, is off slaying monsters and tending to the needs of Free Peoples throughout Middle Earth. Drop by our cottage under the apple tree for a proper welcome!

The main house is filled with artifacts and curiosities collected by the Elf during her travels. On occasion, she has returned home with guests, and a few remain with us still. A bashful turtle makes his home in the yard, and a ranger from the north took up residence at our hearth several years ago.

Please make yourself at home. Grab a mug of ale, fill a plate in the kitchen, and pull up a chair to the fireplace for warmth and good conversation. The ranger may seem reticent at first (some have uncharitably described his personality as "wooden"), but after a few mugs of ale you'll find him to be a marvelous listener. After a few more mugs of ale, he can be quite the storyteller--carrying on and on about a place called Erebor and the Arid Myth-something. We imagine the latter locale is quite dry.

Opposite the kitchen is the study, featuring the Elf's extensive book collection. Frankly, we worry that she spends too much time in there--sometimes she'll sit down at that writing desk and we won't see her for days. The ladder, we assume, leads to the Elf's sleeping quarters, but the upper level must remain a mystery for the foreseeable future on account of our short legs. We suggested a tour once, but the Elf gave us an amused smile and warned that venturing through the hatch might be a dangerous business. "There's no knowing where you might be swept off to," she said. But we do not fear adventure, and someday we will satisfy our curiosity.

Enjoy your visit, and please return soon!"

Now that’s a nice, pleasant house. Nothing too fancy, but I love the harmony of colors.
And that trapdoor to the attic… definitely gonna steal that idea :p

I really liked the side room with the trapdoor in the ceiling! Very cool idea.
I actually had to go see this house twice, since I made the mistake of trying the attic door before I was done exploring the rest of the house. Having never encountered the Empty Apple Barrel decoration before, my unsuspecting lvl 5 character inadvertently got a free tour of Northern Mirkwood a whole 110 levels early. Yeah, that was fun… 🙂

  3. First of all, the house description gets a 10! I adore it. Your home is perfect in all the ways I evaluate a house. The colors all work. The items are grouped in logical areas. There are many nice unique items. There are clever overlays of items. The home feels lived in and enjoyed by the owner and her friends. Talking, telling stories, having meals and a few brews, playing with the cats, and being in good company. Thank you very much for opening your home to me and allowing me to just sit and enjoy. 🙂

I love the rustic, autumn theme of this home. The trapdoor to the attic is the cherry on top for me, such a lovely touch. I’m taking note of that one for possible use later 😀
